Definition:
The Alexander Technique is an alternative medical practice based upon posture. According to
proponents, maintaining the proper alignment of back, neck and head is the most
important thing for good health. When a misalignment is fixed, a variety of diseases
can be cured, including asthma, ulcers and more.
This technique was developed by Frederick Matthias Alexander (1869-1955) around the beginning of the 20th century. Alexander argued not only that improper posture lead to bad health, but also that it could distort a person's personality and lead to evil behavior.

This is the main index for issues dealing with skepticism, critical thinking, logic and arguments. The first section is Critical Thinking itself - how to think about claims and arguments you hear, how to critique arguments, and how to formulate your own arguments such that they are more likely to be sound and valid. The second section is about Skeptical Investigations - the practical application of the critical thinking skills covered in the first section. Here you will find critiques of things like astrology, alternative medicine, parapsychology, the New Age and more.
