Definition: Literally, this means "partisans of the hadith reports." In practice, this refers to traditionalists of Islamic law and practice who don't rely so much in qiyas. Recently it has also come to refer more to a group of scholars in the region of India and Pakistan who are close the the Hanbali school of theology, but who claim to follow no single school of thought.
