Definition: Abiogenesis is the scientific label for the development of life from non-life via natural means, as opposed to special creation. Sometimes abiogenesis is confused with evolution, but the former is only concerned with the origins of life and the latter is only concerned with the development of life once it already exists, regardless of what its origins were.
