Definition: In Hinduism, Kali is one of the three principle gods alongside Brahma and Shiva. The representations of Kali are generally quite gruesome, usually including a necklace of human heads and holding a sword dripping with blood. She is one of the few deities to whom animal sacrifice is still offered.
But to many Hindus, she is revered as a "mother" goddess and the personification of the feminine force in nature.
