Definition: The term abhiseka has two uses. In Hinduism, it refers to the annointing of emporers, kings, and sometimes lower officials when the ascend to power or to mark some important achievement. Another common usage in Hinduism is to refer to a ceremonial bathing in sacred water.
In Buddhism, it often refers to the tenth stage of perfection, which is the last stage of a bodhisattva before attaining enlightenment.
