Although this is by no means true of all atheists or atheism itself, there is some validity behind this perception and it should be taken seriously. There is no ignoring the fact that many atheist web sites and atheist books spend a great deal of time with the doctrines and beliefs which are specific to Christianity or, at the very least, to traditional forms of Western monotheism while at the same time ignoring other religions and more general theistic beliefs. Why is that?

Why do atheists like myself focus on Christianity particularly and western religion in general? Well, maybe because most atheists who are open about their atheism tend to be from the western areas or the world in general and tend to be from the Christian dominated United States in particular.

According to the 2007 Pew Research Center Muslims make up .6% of the American Population. Buddhism makes up .7% and Hinduism makes up .4%.

In other words, by bother criticizing religions which barely any Americans practice and people of reason barely deal with on a regular basis. Now there are some well known atheists who are critical of Islam because in other parts of the world they have rather significant numbers. But here in America the dominant religious threat comes from Christians.

See 2 Corinthians 4:4 for your answer. Atheism isn’t a cogent thought system or even a philosophically coherent worldview. Yeah, I know that’s not going to play well on this board. Too bad. Truth is what it is. Atheism is a negatively oriented, rejection based, condition, very much a sickness of the soul. Which is why the vast majority of atheists are anti-Christian. Therefore, atheism is really not much of anything worthy of consideration.

Answer to what?

Atheism isn’t a cogent thought system or even a philosophically coherent worldview. Yeah, I know that’s not going to play well on this board. Too bad.

Actually, this is exactly correct and something that atheists are constantly trying to tell Christians. You may be the first I’ve seen here actually get it without having to be told.

Atheism is a negatively oriented, rejection based, condition, very much a sickness of the soul.

Oh, and you started out so well.

You know what atheism isn’t, but you’re not informed enough to understand what atheism actually is.

Pity.

Come back and try again once you have some clue as to what atheism actually is.

Which is why the vast majority of atheists are anti-Christian.

Vast majority? Got stats to back that up?

Therefore, atheism is really not much of anything worthy of consideration.

So, being anti-Christian is sufficient to render something as being unworthy of consideration? This implies that the only way to be worthy of consideration is to be pro-Christian. That’s pretty egotistical.
