Discussion: New Baby Dilemma

Ranger wrote: My husband and I are adopting a baby girl from Guatemala. We are not religious at all. Here is the dilemma:  some friends and family members are very concerned about us not having some type of Christening for our daughter. Our family consists of Catholics, Mormons, and various and sundry Protestants. I don't know much about Christenings, Baptisms, etc. I assume you have to belong to a church to do this. Does anyone know of any type of ecumenical ceremony that might be appropriate?
