Missouri State Laws on Flag Burning, Desecration, Abuse

Missouri: Desecration of a flag is a misdemeanor which occurs if anyone "publicly mutilates, defaces, defiles, tramples upon or otherwise desecrates the national flag of the United States or the state flag of the state of Missouri."

Analysis:
One of the shorter laws on flag desecration, Missouri's law is also one of the few which actually uses the word "desecration." Most laws ban defacing, damaging, and defiling the flag, among other things. Only a few, though, include "desecration" in the list or in the title of the law.
