Readers picked The Atheist Experience as their Favorite Atheist Podcast of 2011. This is the second year in a row that The Atheist Experience has won and they won this year with a larger percentage of the vote than they did last year.
A product of the Atheist Community of Austin, The Atheist Experience is probably the oldest atheist podcast we have. It's a lot more than just a podcast, too, because it was originally created as (and still is, of course) a weekly live call-in show on the Public Access cable television station in Austin, Texas.
Fortunately you don't have to live in Austin to see them because you can watch them on ustream. If you do live in the area, you can join them for their regular after-show dinner and meet-up.
One important feature of this show is that it was designed specifically to talk to religious theists, not to atheists. Naturally both atheists and theists are welcome to call in and participate, but the point of the show is to give theists an opportunity ask questions of atheists and learn about atheism.
The creators of The Atheist Experience have really earned the support of listeners and viewers, so congratulations to Matt Dillahunty, Tracie Harris, Martin Wagner, Jen Peeples, Russell Glasser, Don Baker, and Jeff Dee for all the hard work they do.
But don't forget to subscribe to and listen to the other podcasts here as well. All the finalists for Favorite Atheist Podcast are well worth listening to and all have something to offer.
