Cloning Animals for Human Organs?

It may be technological possible (someday) to create animals better suited to provide replacement organs for humans (xenotransplants). We could, then, clone the same pig over and over in order to create replacement livers for people. Is this wise, given the possibility of diseases crossing the species barrier? Is it ethical?
