Revelation of John:
This book consists of an alleged revelation from Jesus to John, describing through convoluted metaphors and obscure imagery what was supposed to occur at the end of times when Jesus would return to do battle with the Antichrist and Satan. Throughout history believers have struggled to identify the figures and events in Revelations with figures and events occurring in history. The book was probably written sometime around the end of the reign of emperor Domitian (81-96 CE), and the Antichrist found in the descriptions was at the time popularly identified with Nero.
