Definition:
Noah is the primary character in the biblical tale of the global flood. According to the story
in Genesis 6:9 -
9:17,
God was disappointed with his creation of humans and intended to simply wipe them all out. But,
because Noah was such a good person, God consented to save him, his family, and a few of
each animal on the planet. Legends about a single person who survives a catastrophe and
must repopulate an area or the whole earth is not uncommon in world religions.
