Definition:
Moses (Mosheh in Hebrew) is an important figure in the Old Testament and remains to this day an example of faith and action for the Jews. If he existed, it would have been around the 13th century BCE and he is credited for leading the Jews out of slavery in Egypt (Exodus through Deuteronomy) and towards the "promised land" of Canaan. Indeed, tradition ascribes the authorship of the entire Pentateuch to Moses, even though at the end it describes his death and burial.
