Biography:
According to tradition, when Sun Myung Moon was 16 he received a revelation from Jesus Christ which informed him that the role of Messiah for humanity was being passed from Jesus to Moon. Over the following years he worked to prepare for his new role by communicating with other religious leaders like the Buddha and Moses. The revelations which he received from these various religious figures would form the basis of the theology of the Unification Church which he founded in 1954
