Ethiopian Christianity is the last surviving remnant of ancient African Christian traditions. It was founded by two shipwrecked Christian missionaries, Frumentius and Aedesius, in the 4th century and then later strengthened by the efforts of Syrian monks who arrived early in the 6th century.
