Definition:
The Antifederalists were a group of politicians and citizens who were opposed to the current Constitution
and worked to see that the states did not ratify it. According to the Antifederalists, the Constitution was
flawed because it gave too much power to a centralized, federal government and took too much power away
from the local, state governments. After failing in their efforts, the Antifederalists later formed a political
party to ensure that their views continued to have a national voice.
