The alternative medicine known as "vibrational medicine" is based upon the premise that human beings are essentially "dynamic energy systems" (this energy is commonly referred to as the spirit, but sometimes the generic term 'energy' is simply used) and that the path to good health is found through maintaining a health balance and flow of energy through the body.
Promoting balance and flow of "subtle energy systems" is achieved through a variety of means, including diet, regulation of emotions, environment, and of course the intervention of a "certified" and "trained" practitioner. These practitioners can be very eclectic in what they do, employing methods and techniques from acupuncture, aromatherapy, crystal healing, touch therapy and more.

But what is alternative medicine - how does it differ from scientific medicine and why do people use it?Skepticism & Critical Thinking
This is the main index for issues dealing with skepticism, critical thinking, logic and arguments. The first section is Critical Thinking itself - how to think about claims and arguments you hear, how to critique arguments, and how to formulate your own arguments such that they are more likely to be sound and valid. The second section is about Skeptical Investigations - the practical application of the critical thinking skills covered in the first section. Here you will find critiques of things like astrology, alternative medicine, parapsychology, the New Age and more.
