Definition: Psychometrists, people who engage in "psychometry," are those who claim to be able to "read" facts from physical objects. For example, a psychometrist will claim to be able to take something like a pen or ring and, just by handling, tell all sorts of personal things about the owner. Psychic detectives will often make us of psychometry in that they will handle things at a crime scene in order to make claims about the people who were there - including the perpetrator.
