Definition: Some psychics claim that they are able to "see" information about others without using their normal six senses. This psi ability is called clairvoyance, which comes from a French term for "seeing clearly." Sometimes a person goes into a trance in order to see things, but quite often some device is employed - like a crystal ball or tarot cards.
Clairvoyance is similar to telepathy, in that a person uses their mind but not their normal senses to obtain information which they should not otherwise have access to. However, the basic difference between the two is that whereas telepathy involves an interaction between two minds, clairvoyance only involves a single person.
