Definition:
Written by James Redfield, The Celestine Prophecy is a novel which is used by many as a
spiritual guide or handbook. Redfield has also written a sequel, The Tenth Insight, publishes a
newsletter, and sells numerous audio tapes, CDs, and other related products.
The exact message can be a bit vague and difficult to decipher, but among the most important ideas is that the world is beginning to enter a "New Age" of spiritual harmony and bliss. We should work to hasten this development by focusing on positive thoughts and avoiding negative thoughts (so much for skeptics), flow with "coincidences" (there are no real coincidence because everything happens with a purpose and as part of some plan), follow your intuitions rather than trying to reason things out logically, etc.

Skepticism & Critical Thinking
This is the main index for issues dealing with skepticism, critical thinking, logic and arguments. The first section is Critical Thinking itself - how to think about claims and arguments you hear, how to critique arguments, and how to formulate your own arguments such that they are more likely to be sound and valid. The second section is about Skeptical Investigations - the practical application of the critical thinking skills covered in the first section. Here you will find critiques of things like astrology, alternative medicine, parapsychology, the New Age and more.
