Definition:
The name "Aquarian Conspiracy" was coined by Marilyn Ferguson and used as the title for her 1980 book. According to Ferguson, who are operating in collusion - i.e., conspiring - to use psychic and spiritual beliefs to bring the planet into a new age of harmony, love and transcendance. This "conspiracy" is "Aquarian" because, according to some beliefs in astrology, we will soon be entering an "Age of Aquarius" in which certain spiritual values will reign supreme over the human race.

Ferguson argued that the employment of beliefs in things like spirit channeling and the power of crystals would be key to the success of the "New Age." She did not, however, consider the truth of these beliefs to be relevant, writing that "They can be extremely helpful to people and we don't have to know whether they were authentic or not." Such a callous disregard for truth and reality is highly unethical.
