Definition:
The term Yom Kippur literally means "Day of Atonement" in Hebrew. Yom Kippur
is an annual holy day observed by Jews on the tenth day of Tishri (just after Rosh Hashanah)
and is characterized by fasting and prayer for the atonement of sins. Observant Jews
regard it as the most important and solem day on the religious calendar.
