Biography:
RaSHI is an acronym used to refer to Rabbi Solomon (Sholmo) ben Issac (1040-1105), one of
Judaism's most important theologians of the Middle Ages.
Ben Issac wrote one of the most important commentaries on the Bible and on the Talmud, characterized by an emphasis on a plain, straightforward meaning of the texts.
