Definition:
A concordance for a book lists, alphabetically, the words which are used in that book and
where they can be found, allowing a person not only to more easily find words and concepts,
but also to conduct a linguistic analysis of the work. Different concordances will include different
words - some will only focus on the most common words while others will try to list them all.
The first English concordance of the Bible was published by John Marbeck in 1550.
