Definition:
Menachem Begin (1913-1992) as born in Brest-Litovsk, Poland on August 16, 1913 and at the age of 16 a nationalist Zionist movement for young people known as Betar (Brit Trumpeldor). During World War II he fought with the Polish army and after demobilization in 1943, he joined and lead the Jewish National Military Organization (Irgun Zvati Leumi, known by the Hebrew initials as "Etzel."

In this capacity he fought against both Palestinians and the British, proving so effective that a £ 10,000 for information leading to his arrest was offered, but he was able to escape capture. In May of 1977 he won Knesset elections and on June 20, 1977, he became Prime Minister of Israel. In 1978, he won the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts at reaching peace with other Arab states.
