Definition: This is an ancronym which stands for "Sallal-lahu 'alayhi wa-alihi wa-sallam" which means "Blessings and peace of God be with him and his household."
This is, essentially, a prayer which is affixed to Muhammad's name whenever it is written. This is obviously the Arabic version of it. The English version is pbuh.
