Definition: In Islam, din is a general term for religion but in practice it is only used to refer to the One True Religion of Islam, as opposed to millah which is used to refer to other religions. The concept of din includes the idea of an obligation and indebtedness towards God, and as such it is also often contrasted with the concept of dunya, or the secular aspects of life.
