Definition: The Admadiya are a recent Muslim sect which was founded by Mirza Ghulam Admad in Qadian, India. In 1879 he declared himself to be the Mahdi and called upon people to follow jihad, by which he meant simply a striving for personal righteousness rather than violent conflict.

His followers today continue to engage in missionary activity around the world.
