Definition: Time is a span of temporal duration and part of the fabric of our universe. That definition isn't very informative, but a better definition may not be possible, despite the best efforts of the natural sciences.
Philosophers have debated the nature of time for... well, a long time. Does time exist independent of our experience of reality, or is it merely a feature of our internal experiences? Can it be said that time has a "beginning" or an "ending"? Does time really have a direction and, if so, why?
