Definition: Nebuchadrezzar (605-562) was an important king of Babylon who plays an important role in the international politics depicted through the Old Testament. The original Babylonian is Nabu-kudurri-usur, which means "the god Nabu has protected the succession." The Babylonian inscriptions which remain emphasize not military conquest but his efforts at establishing law and justice, not to mention moral and religious interests.
