Biography:
Joseph Martin McCabe was a Roman Catholic priest who grew to doubt the truth of Christianity - he eventually gave up his clerical career and became instead a fierce opponent of Christianity in general and Catholicism in particular. He wrote a large number of freethought and anti-clerical books, making him a thorn in the side of the church.
