Biography:
Titus Lucretius Carus Lucretius was a Roman philosopher who advocated a consistent and thorough naturalism. As a result, Lucretius argued that there was no immortal soul and that people who accept traditional religious doctrines are being unacceptably superstitious. His book De Rerum Natura (On the Nature of Things) explains and defends Epicurus' materialistic philosophy, making him a target for later Christian apologists.
