Definition:
Those who adhere to the identity theory of the mind argue that for every mental state or event, there exists some identical physical state or event. The identity theory of the mind is, obviously enough, a materialistic theory which rejects the claim that the conscious mind which we experience is separate from our physical, organic brain.
