Definition:
The concept of Dasein is fundamental to Heidegger's philosophy. The German word
literally means "being there," and that was how Heidegger conceived of human life:
being there, thrown into the chaos and confusion of life where we are ultimately
responsible for what we do and how we live, without help from higher, outside forces.
