Definition:
Converse accident is an informal fallacy which involves using some specific cases in
order to formulate a general rule, even though there are other, important features
which have been ignored. For example:
Presidents who were elected in 1860, 1880, 1900, 1920, 1940, and 1960 all died in office. Reagan, elected in 1980, narrowly escaped assassination. Therefore, President Bush, who was elected in 2000, will suffer from this "20-year curse" and die in office.
