Died: December 7, 43 BCE in Arpinum, Italy
Elected Consul: 63 BCE

Biography:
When Marcus Tullius Cicero was elected Consul, he became the first Roman Consul in decades who had no ancestors who had also been consuls. As one of the last leaders of the Roman Republic, he became famous for his speeches both to the Senate and to the people in support of the republican form of government. Unfortunately, his positions eventually caused him to be executed.
