Definition:
The label "ageism" is applied to the attitude that people who are older are not worth as much as those who are younger - usually in terms of ecnomic viability in the workplace or general free market. A common and obvious example of "ageism" in partice can be seen in Hollywood, where older actors and writers are ignored in favor of younger actors writers based upon the premise that the market of younger viewers is most valuable, but older writers are incapable of understanding or reaching them.

The existence of a subtle and even unconscious prejudice against older people was confirmed by psychologists Charles W. Purdue and Michael B. Gurtman. In "Evidence for the Automaticity of Ageism," published in the Journal of Experimental Social Psychology, they revealed that in a memory test, they found that people remembered more negative traits about a person who had been labeled "old" and more positive traits about a person who had been labeled "young."

What are Political and Legal Philosophy
The Philosophy of Politics and the Philosophy of Law are often studied separately, but they are presented here jointly because they both come back to the same thing: the study of force. Politics is the study of political force in the general community, while jurisprudence is the study of how laws can and should be used to achieve political and social goals.
