Definition: One of the major forms of creationism is "Young Earth Creationism. According to young earth creationists, the earth is not as old as geologists and other scientists claim. The actual age claimed by young earthers will vary from about 6,000 to 10,000 years, with the lower numbers being more common because they are based upon literal interpretations of the Bible - for example, the calculations done by Bishop Ussher .
