Definition: Located near Glen Rose, Texas is the Paluxy River, a site both famous and infamous in discussions about evolution and creationism. The limestone bed here has developed an international reputation for the high-quality and quantity of dinosaur footprints which can be found there. The government even created Dinosaur Valley State Park in order to preserve them and make them available to the public to see.
According to many creationists, however, there are trackways in the Paluxy River riverbed which contain both human and dinosaur tracks, made at the same time. Thus, they argue, humans and dinosaurs lived during the same time period, disproving evolutionary claims of an old earth.
A close look, however, will reveal that the allegedly human marks are actually the prints of a three-toed dinosaur. Some creationists have figured this out, fortunately, and even the Institute for Creation Research has issued a statement asking creationists not to use this as a basis for arguing that the earth is young.
