Definition: In 1963 Heny M. Morris lead a group of engineers and other scientists in the formation of the Creation Research Society, a group devoted to proving that creationism has solid scientific foundations while evolution does not. It later changed its name to th Institute for Creation Research.
Originally, this group was affiliated with the evangelical Christian Heritage College, but by 1972 it had become its own, independent organization - this was the time of its change in name as well. The early founders came from a variety of denominations, but it drew most heavily from the anti-evolutionist writings of Seventh-Day Adventists.
