Definition:
Tao literally means "path" or "way," and in Confucianism it is the term used for the
"proper path" of a superior person who follows the will of Heaven. According to the
Tao Te Ching, the Tao is the formless source of order in the universe - and although
it sustains all things, it has no volition and engages in no purposeful actions.
