Definition: In Hinduism, kama can either mean sensuous love or emotional attachment. In Hindu theology, kama is regarded as the source of all our actions and of our attachment to this world. Thus, it is an impediment to spiritual enlightenment and freedom.

In the Bhagavad Gita, Kirshna advises Arjuna to defy kama by saying "Kill the enemy menacing you in the form of desire!"
