Definition: Agonshu is a recent "New Religion" in Japan, developed by Kiriyama Seiyu in 1969. He founded his new beief system on esoteric Buddhist doctrines and taught that people should strive to realize enlightenment in this life. Agonshu combines spritual beliefs with Japanese traditionalism and high-tech presentations.
