Definition:
Developed in the 1960s, Optical Art is a style which creates the sensation of vibration
and movement in static images through the use of optical illusions. Its
characteristically colorful, flowing, swirling designs became very popular among the
"hippies" of the 1960s and so the style was reproduced on clothing and music album covers
for years.
