100,000 Jews are expelled from Sicily. Although Christians generally tried to avoid "infection" from Jews by walling them off in ghettos and restricting their ability to go outside it, sometimes even that isn't enough and Jewish communities are simply expelled entirely - with all their property confiscated before they leave first, many times. This often occurs in the wake of some event for which the Jews are accused of committing - desecration of a church, killing a Christian child and taking their blood, etc. In such cases the Jews are lucky not to be slaughtered entirely, so being expelled is almost a relief.
