Zeus and Hera

Zeus was married to his sister, the goddess Hera. They had a difficult relationship and once she helped the other gods try to overthrow him. He escaped and made her promise never to try again, but that didn't stop her from seeking to undermine him whenever possible. This image comes from the Temple of Hera at Selinus, c. 470-460 BCE, and shows Hera revealing herself to Zeus - possibly on their wedding night.
