Epidauros (Epidaurus, Epidavros) is most famous today for its open-air theater. The largest surviving theater in Greece today, it was designed by Polykleitos, built around 330 BCE, and can still hold around 14,000 people at the events held there. The acoustics of the Epidauros theater are so good that a whisper down on the stage area can be heard at the top seats - I know, I've tried it.
