Athens developed a large Roman marketplace. There were two main entrances, an Ionic entrance located on the eastern side and a Doric entrance on the western side. The photograph above is of the Doric entrance and was known as the Gate of Athena Archegetis and was built between 19 BCE and 11 BCE with funds from Julius Caesar.
