Apollo Shooting His Bow

Like his twin sister Artemis, Apollo was very skilled with the bow and arrow. He is described, for example, as using poisoned arrows during the Trojan War to infect the Greek camp with the plague. There is also a story about him and his sister taking revenge on Niobe, Queen of Thebes, for boasting that she was greater than Leto for having 14 children: 7 boys and 7 girls. With their arrows Apollo killed the young men and Artemis killed the young women.
