One unusual sight in the Athens Agora is the Church of the Holy Apostles (Aghii Apostoli). This Byzantine Church is one of the oldest churches in the area, having been built in the 11th century, but it is so much younger than everything else that it simply looks out of place. Constructed on the site of an earlier Greek temple, it is located near the Agora's southern entrance and contains a number of very good frescoes.
